Sport News

Holt Cross Country
The weather was very kind to us on Friday and the sun came out to make our running experience so much more enjoyable.
Congratulations to our Cross Country squad. They all finished the course in fine fashion and did an amazing job. I am so proud of your individual achievements. The following children were in the top 20 out of 100 children.
Sophia Yau 12th
Zara Thompson 15th
Alexander Arnaoutis 16th
Cohen Walters 17th
Zac Forner 20th
Well done.
Thank you to Laura and Antonella for their assistance and to the parents who came to support our children on the day.
Thanks Anna for my beautiful coffee. Very much appreciated.

Holt Cross Country

written by Chiara Chiodo

It was the morning of cross country and I was already shaking as Mrs Chiodo and Miss Patto were calling us to get on the bus. I got on the bus with butterflies in my stomach. When we got to Bald Park Hill the nerves grew bigger! We met Miss Armour and set up our marquee.

There were kids from year 4 Zac Forner, Cameron McKell, Lachlan Plas, Jensen Walters and Gus Welsh who were in the 9/10 race. Kids from Year 5, Zara Thompson, Alexander Arnaoutis, Alexander D’Silva, Nathan Anesidis, Miki Nowak and Oliver Todd who were in the 11 race and kids from Year 6 Chiara Chiodo, Sophia Yau, Ramy Khodr, Cohen Walters, Darcy Stevens and Alec Karavias they were in the 12/13 race. The boys and girls were split up into different races.

The worst part was the wait. No matter what I did, I couldn't get the nerves away. When they called us for our race the nerves were bigger than ever. I walked up to the starting line feeling like I was going to explode but luckily I didn't. After the race I felt relieved that I didn't collapse mid way through  the race but so tired. There was only one race after my one so I had time to recoup my energy for the presentation. Our school came last but that didn’t matter. We all left feeling so proud of ourselves. We all felt good that we went and we gave it our best shot. It was so fun being there and helping the team.
